Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy / Psychoanalysis

What is psychoanalytic therapy?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy aims to help us develop a deeper understanding of ourselves, taking into account that our decisions, behaviors, activities, and conscious beliefs are influenced by deeper beliefs, desires, and fears that we are not aware of.  This approach appreciates the profound impact of our early life, and in a most powerful way can open us to new more satisfying ways of relating to ourselves and others.

What is psychoanalysis?

Psychoanalysis is the most intensive form of treatment in this modality, meeting typically 4-5 times per week.  It can often be effective where other treatments have failed, and has changed the life course for many individuals.  I have pursued post-licensure advanced training to be able to offer this treatment in my practice.
